Crab apple
Crab apple (genus Malus, family Roseceae), tree that bears small tart-tasting apples, and has fragrant white or pink flowers. It grows in northern Asia and in North America, where the fruit is used for making pies, jellies, and condiments. The tree is usually about 20 ft (6 m) tall.
