Creek

Creek, Native American confederation of tribes and settlements in Alabama and Georgia. The Creek had a stable, agricultural society centered on rivers and creeks. In 1813–14 they lost most of their land in a war led by U.S. general Andrew Jackson. By 1840 the entire tribe had been transported to Oklahoma, where most of their descendants now live.
